Massage Therapy, Amsterdam
Pain, tension, stiffness, fatigue. The body is constantly communicating.
My job isn’t to follow a routine. It’s to pay attention, listen, and work with what’s there. Every session starts there.
Book a sessionHow I work
Every session starts with listening. I want to understand what’s going on, what you’re struggling with, and what you’d like to get out of the treatment. From there, the session unfolds.
I don’t follow fixed routines because every body is different. I adapt the treatment to what’s in front of me.
We can work deeply when needed. But deeper pressure doesn’t automatically mean better results.
I work slowly. I look for a depth that feels effective and that you can still breathe through. Once we find that point, I wait. I don’t keep adding pressure. Most of the time the body lets go on its own when it’s given enough time and isn’t being forced.
Find the depth. Meet the tension. Wait for it to melt.
What to expect
We start with a short conversation. What’s going on, how long it’s been there, what makes it worse. You don’t need to know exactly what the problem is. Most people just know something doesn’t feel right. That’s enough.
Then I start working. What I feel usually changes my initial plan. I adjust as I go and slow down when something needs more attention. I check in as we go. If the pressure is off or something doesn’t feel right, just tell me.
People come in with all kinds of things. Neck pain, back problems, headaches, stiffness, feeling tired or stressed. A good session means you leave feeling better than when you came in.
For Returning Clients
Every session you book counts toward your card. Once you’ve completed ten, your eleventh session is on me.
Treatments
For tension, stress, and recovery.
A slower, more general session. Good when stress has built up and the body needs to settle. I work through the whole body at a pace that gives the nervous system time to catch up. Firm enough to have an effect, not so much that you spend the session bracing.
For specific pain, restriction, and chronic tension.
More focused work. Chronic neck or shoulder tension, lower back pain. Recovery. I go slowly into the deeper layers, find the right depth, and hold it. Tissue needs time, not force. Some discomfort is normal. Pain that makes you hold your breath is too much. Tell me and I’ll adjust.
For athletes, training recovery, and performance.
Aimed at active bodies, before or after training or during a heavier training block. Helps with recovery, mobility, and staying ahead of overuse injuries.
For tension held in the upper body.
A focused session on the areas that carry the most stress: back, neck, and shoulders. Good when you’re short on time but still want real relief where it counts.
For tired feet and full-body relaxation.
A shorter session focused entirely on the feet. Surprisingly effective for overall relaxation, not just for the feet themselves.
About
Hi, I’m Tijmen.
Through movement I discovered how good it feels to be truly present in my body. It helps me step away from the constant stream of thoughts and leaves me feeling more relaxed. When my body feels open, so does my mind.
Realising that massage could create that same experience was a turning point for me. I suddenly saw a way to help people slow down, step out of their heads for a while, and feel more at home in their bodies. That inspired me to study Massage Therapy at Esoterra, a CPION & SKB accredited institute in Amsterdam. I enjoy continuing to learn, refine my skills, and keep growing so I can offer the best possible care to my clients.
One of the things I love most about massage is that every body is different. No two sessions are ever the same, which means every treatment asks for an open mind and a different approach. Rather than following a fixed routine, I listen, observe, and adapt to what’s happening in the moment. Together, we explore what your body needs. Every session is like solving a puzzle, and that’s what keeps this work so interesting to me.
My curiosity has expanded beyond massage into health and well-being as a whole. I’m fascinated by a holistic approach to health and enjoy learning about the many different ways we can support our bodies and improve how we feel. I’m not looking for a perfect formula. I’m simply interested in what helps us feel more at home in our bodies.
I love seeing what happens after a treatment. When someone gets off the table and tells me they feel lighter, more relaxed, or that they can move more freely, it reminds me why I love this work. You can often see it too. Their posture softens, their breathing slows down, and there’s more ease in their eyes. Being able to contribute to that is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
